Class PF1 Task 1: Take off and Landing Score Pilot No. 18 Andrew McMahon

Andrew McMahon completed the take off successfully.
The disorganisation of:
lack of radio information in English
Display of pilot numbers instead of order number
The random orientation of the numbers
The use of none-standard representation of numbers
The poor visibility of numbers from 600ft
The allowing of some pilots of land when their pilot order number was displayed
The lack of an outer ring
The small size of the football (hardly visible in long grass and sometimes in different position from a white mark)
made it very difficult to concentrate and plan a landing. Furthermore, there was no wind flag visible from the air.
The wind switched from a northerly to a southerly as I was descending and there was no visible flag (it apparently was used at the take off site). This resulted in a fast downwind landing.
Despite the downwind landing, we dispute that the landing was 50m from the football.
Finally, a penalty has been applied from the landing score to the take off score. There is no reference to such a penalty in the task documents.

I have already apologized to everybody for the failings in task 1, I can assure you this was not through lack of effort, but you must accept that until resources are available to employ a professional cadre of championship staff there are inevitably going to be difficulties, especially at the beginning of championships.
I have also congratulated pilots in the way they generally managed to cope with the situation in conditions which were constant throughout the task.
In the case of your dispute about the landing location of Mr McMahon, if you have solid evidence, eg video, which could support your case then I will be more than willing to look at it. In the meantime I must accept the judgement of the marshals observing the task.
Finally, do you deny the task brief contains the provision "Zero task score: Pilot or any part of the aircraft touches the ground outside the takeoff deck or the area within 50m of the landing spot while undertaking the task."?
