Maps for the UK 2006 Paramotor Championship tasks
No need to pre-buy your maps!!!!!
In an effort to make things simple the Competition Director, Paul Mahony, is having some laminated maps made especially for this year’s tasks.
The set will comprise of 4 x A3 laminated maps, with data from various OS 1:50,000 Landranger Maps covering the area and scaled down to 1:75,000 (each kilometre square will be 15mm across). They will be overlaid with airspace information as well as no-fly zones, waypoints, start gates, etc. Each set of maps will also come with a map key detailing the grid references of the waypoints and their description.
There will be no necessity to sit up half the night transposing information and plotting waypoints, getting them wrong and starting all over again!! The map sets will also be available for free-flyers to purchase.
Each set of 4 x A3 laminated maps and the accompanying key, will cost only £8. They will only be available from the administration desk and should be purchased when you book in on arrival.
Pilots and free-flyers who do not want to buy the set of maps must purchase and bring their own OS maps and transfer all the waypoint and airspace information onto them. Pilots will need the following two maps:
1:50,000 Landranger #156: Saxmundham, Aldeburgh & Southwold
1:50,000 Landranger #169: Ipswich & The Naze, Clacton-on-sea
NB: the map key detailing the grid references of the waypoints and their description will not be available separately.
