Everest forecast - From WNI and AdventureWeather.com
By ExplorersWeb
WNI Headline:
Models are being very persistent in forecasting the better winds for
climbing starting the afternoon/evening on Saturday and also the
possible development of the tropical cyclone in the North Bay of Bengal.
Today and part of tomorrow should be the windiest days through this
forecasting period. Models are continuing to forecast the possible
cyclone to usher in plenty of moisture to the ME area starting on Monday
and through the rest of the week. In the meantime, the jet will move
further north resulting in the development of lighter winds. The push
timing currently looks good as far as winds go, but be cautious of the
snow showers and accumulations starting on Monday and through the rest
of next week.

Below 7500m - Today and part of tomorrow look for winds to be around
10-18 m/s and mainly out of the W/NW. By Saturday evening the winds
should ease to less than 10 m/s and turn to more of a NW'erly direction.
Look for mostly dry conditions today and through Sunday. There is a
chance for showers on Monday with snow becoming likely through the rest
of the week. Winds starting on Monday are continuously being forecasted
to be around 2-10 m/s. At this time models are having a difficult time
with the wind direction around mid-week, but should have a grasp on the
direction once/if the cyclone develops.

Above 7500m - Today and tomorrow will be windy near the Summits. Look
for winds to be around 15-25 m/s through Saturday afternoon. The winds
are forecasted to then be around 5-12 m/s through Monday. Models are
then forecasting winds to be around 5-10 m/s through Thursday. The wind
direction will be out of the W/NW today and turn more NW'erly through
most of this forecasting period. At this time winds look good for the
push to the Summit, but again, be cautious of the snow
showers/accumulations next week.

Safe Climbing!
